About the Programme

B. Tech. CSE at Metro University is built on a conviction that computing education must go beyond code – it must form thinking habits, ethical instincts, and collaborative skills. The first two years build a rigorous foundation in mathematics, physics, and core computing. The third and fourth year will offer seven specialisation tracks, each with dedicated labs, industry mentors, and mandatory projects. Every student graduates with industry certifications, internships, and semester projects – making them professional-ready from day one.

Curriculum Overview

Outcome-based education (OBE)

Every course maps to Course Outcomes, Programme Outcomes, and PEOs. Assessment is criterion-referenced. Curriculum is revised
annually based on attainment data.

Theory: IA 40 (MSE-1:15 + MSE-2:15 + Attendance:5 + CA:5) + ESE 60. Labs: IA 50 (Record:20 + Viva:15 + CA:15) + External ESE 50. Every theory course has a linked lab.
Internship 6-8 weeks between Year II and Year III. Minimum one industry certification before graduation.
Up to 20% elective credits through SWAYAM, NPTEL, Coursera, or edX. Multiple exit options: Certificate (1 yr), Diploma (2 yr), B. Tech (4 yr). Credits transferable across institutions.

60% aggregate in PCM subjects (55% for SC / ST / PwD)

Valid JEE Main score OR Metro University Entrance Test (MET)

Age

Minimum 17 years as on 1st October of admission year. No upper age limit.

JEE Main / MET score → Counselling → Document verification → Seat allotment

Frequently Asked Questions

Is JEE Main mandatory for admission?

A. No. Metro University accepts both JEE Main and its own MET. MET is conducted in January and May and is a fully recognised
route

A. Specialisation is selected at end of Year I. A one-time change is permitted up to Semester III with Dean’s approval, subject to
availability.

A. Yes – 6 to 8 weeks between Year II and Year III. The T&P cell facilitates industry placements; students may also arrange independent
placements.

A. Yes – up to 20% of elective credits through approved MOOCs of at least 8 weeks with a proctored examination. Prior Dean’s approval
required.
