About the School

The School of Engineering and Technology at Metro University is designed to prepare students for a technology-driven future through strong academic foundations, applied learning and industry-oriented exposure. The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across engineering and computer applications, with a focus on computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data science, cyber security, internet of things, robotics and application development.

Driving Innovation and Excellence

Prof. (Dr.) Dilkeshwar Pandey is a distinguished academician, researcher, and academic administrator with over 33 years of experience in higher education, research, academic leadership, quality assurance, and institutional development. As Dean, Engineering & Technology, he is committed to advancing academic excellence, innovation-driven education, interdisciplinary research, industry collaboration, and outcome-based learning in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and global academic standards.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Vision from DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Haryana; an M.E. in Computer Technology & Applications from Delhi College of Engineering (University of Delhi); and a B.E. with Distinction from BIT Sindri.

His academic and research expertise spans Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Database Systems, and Intelligent Computing. His research work has focused on the application of intelligent technologies in healthcare, agriculture, image processing, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Pandey has held several key leadership positions, including Professor, Head of Department, Principal (In-charge), Research Coordinator, and Academic Administrator. He has extensive experience in academic planning, curriculum development, accreditation, faculty development, research management, student mentoring, and institutional quality enhancement. He has actively contributed to NBA accreditation processes and the successful implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) frameworks.

A prolific researcher and innovator, Dr. Pandey has published numerous research papers in reputed Science Citation Index (SCI), Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), and Scopus-indexed journals, as well as in leading international conferences. He is the holder of multiple patents in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Healthcare Technologies, Computer Vision, and Smart Systems. In addition, he has authored books, contributed scholarly book chapters, supervised postgraduate research scholars, chaired technical sessions at international conferences, delivered keynote, and invited lectures, and coordinated several AICTE-sponsored Faculty Development Programs.

His contributions to academia and education have been recognized through several honours, including the Teacher’s Excellence Award, Director’s Special Award, National Merit Scholarship, and recognition as a Top Performer in NPTEL Certification Programs.
