Curriculum Overview
Application development from Day 1
Unlike engineering programmes that spend Year I on physics and calculus, BCA goes into web design and programming from Semester I – giving students early coding wins and sustained motivation.
MCA direct pathway
The BCA Major Project is developed for a real client (SME or NGO) with an industry mentor, a working demo, and a client presentation
– the strongest item on a BCA graduate’s resume.
Industry project in Year III
Curriculum aligns with AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, and Google Associate Cloud Engineer – the three most demanded cloud certifications in the job market.
Coding bootcamps every semester
Structured competitive programming bootcamps, hackathons, and open-source contribution workshops every semester – from Year I. BCA graduates are competitive coders, not just application users.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can students from Commerce or Arts join BCA?
Yes – BCA is open to students from any stream. You need Mathematics at Class X or XII level. The programme builds all computing concepts from scratch – no prior programming experience is needed.
What is the difference between BCA and B. Tech?
Tech is engineering science – mathematics, physics, hardware, and systems thinking over 4 years. BCA is application-focused – software development, web technologies, and business systems over 3 years. BCA graduates with strong skills are hired at equivalent levels in many IT companies.
Can BCA graduates do MCA?
Yes – BCA graduates are eligible for MCA. Metro University’s MCA gives priority to its own BCA graduates. BCA + MCA = 5 years for a postgraduate qualification in Computing.
Is internship compulsory?
Yes – 6 weeks between Year II and Year III. The T&P cell actively places BCA students with IT companies and startups. Students may also self-arrange internships at approved organisations.
