School of Engineering and Technology
B.Tech (Cyber Security)
A programme that trains ethical, technically rigorous security professionals – covering cryptography, network defence, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and the legal frameworks governing data and privacy in India and globally.
About the Programme
Unlike B. Tech CSE where AI/ML is a specialisation programme. The mathematical and computing foundations are specifically chosen for AI/ML workloads – linear algebra with ML applications, probability for Bayesian inference, Python from Semester I. By II Year students work on real AI projects with industry partners. The dedicated GPU Lab is equipped with NVIDIA A100/RTX 4090 workstations and cloud compute credits. Graduates enter industry as AI Engineers, MLOps Specialists, NLP Researchers, and Computer Vision Engineers.

Curriculum Overview
Attack and Defence Curriculum
Students learn both offensive (ethical hacking, penetration testing) and defensive (SOC, incident response, hardening) security. You cannot defend what you cannot attack—both are mandatory.
Industry-Grade Security Lab
Isolated environment with real attack simulations, SIEM platforms (Splunk), vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Nmap), and CTF (Capture the Flag) infrastructure for competitive practice.
Legal and Compliance Mandatory
Indian IT Act 2000, DPDPA 2023, GDPR, and professional ethics in cybersecurity are core subjects—graduates understand both technical and legal dimensions of security.
EC-Council Certification Pathway
Students are guided toward CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) or CompTIA Security+, supported by faculty who are certified practitioners actively mentoring exam preparation.

Selection | JEE Main / MET → Counselling → Seat allotment |
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ethical hacking taught legally?
Yes – all penetration testing techniques are taught in isolated, authorised laboratory environments. Students sign a code of conduct and work under faculty supervision at all times.
What certifications will I be prepared for?
CEH (EC-Council), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, AWS Security Specialty. Curriculum aligns with CEH exam objectives from Year III.
Are there government job opportunities?
Yes – CERT-In, NIC, DRDO, and state cyber cells recruit cybersecurity graduates. The programme includes government security frameworks and public sector compliance.
What is the average salary for cybersecurity graduates?
Average package: Rs 7.8 LPA. SOC Analyst roles: Rs 5-8 LPA. Penetration Testers with CEH: Rs 8-14 LPA. Security Architects (after 3-5 years): Rs 20-40 LPA.
ral alumni have progressed to PhD programmes at IITs and NITs.
