The School of Business and Commerce (SBC), Metro University, in collaboration with the Centre for Connecting Learning and Innovation (CCLI), organised a Design Thinking Workshop: “An Experiential Introduction to Human-Centred Design Thinking” on 24 September 2026 for students of BBA, B.Com and MBA programmes. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Neelam Saxena, Founder and CEO, CCLI, and Dr. Arvind Deshmukh, Co- founder and Head of Operations, CCLI.
The session introduced students to the fundamentals of human-centred problem solving, with
particular emphasis on empathy, user personas, discovery, invention, innovation and the five
stages of Design Thinking – Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Students also
explored how effective solutions must balance human desirability, technical feasibility and
economic viability through a range of practical and contemporary examples om.
The workshop became especially engaging through an experiential group activity conducted
by Dr. Arvind Deshmukh, where students worked in mixed teams to identify users, define
real-life problems and creatively present possible solutions. The activity encouraged
teamwork, creativity, leadership and presentation skills. Students found the workshop highly
informative, energetic and enjoyable, making it a valuable experiential learning opportunity
beyond the classroom.
