An Experiential Introduction to Human-Centred Design Thinking

The School of Business and Commerce (SBC), Metro University, in collaboration with the Centre for Connecting Learning and Innovation (CCLI), organised a Design Thinking Workshop: “An Experiential Introduction to Human-Centred Design Thinking” on 24 September 2026 for students of BBA, B.Com and MBA programmes. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Neelam Saxena, Founder and CEO, CCLI, and Dr. Arvind Deshmukh, Co- founder and Head of Operations, CCLI. The session introduced students to the fundamentals of human-centred problem solving, with particular emphasis on empathy, user personas, discovery, invention, innovation and the five stages of Design Thinking - Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Students also explored how effective solutions must balance human desirability, technical feasibility and economic viability through a range of practical and contemporary examples om.The workshop became especially engaging through an experiential group activity conducted by Dr. Arvind Deshmukh, where students worked in mixed teams to identify users, define real-life problems and creatively present possible solutions. The activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, leadership and presentation skills. ‘गांधी जी की यात्रा’ Celebrating the Legacy and Values of Mahatma Gandhi Date: 24 September 2026 The School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Metro University, Greater Noida, successfully organised “गांधी जी की यात्रा”, an engaging and meaningful programme commemorating the enduring legacy and values of Mahatma Gandhi. The programme focused on Gandhi Ji’s timeless principles of truth, non-violence, simplicity, compassion, and service to society, providing students with an opportunity to reflect upon their relevance in contemporary times. The event featured an insightful session by Shri Pushpmitra, Senior Writer and Journalist, Bihar, who shared thought-provoking perspectives on Mahatma Gandhi’s life, philosophy, ideas, and continuing influence on society. Adding vibrancy to the programme, students presented poetry, speeches, dance performances, a quiz, and creative presentations, offering diverse perspectives on Gandhi Ji’s life and journey. These engaging activities encouraged students to connect with his ideals through creativity, learning, and thoughtful reflection. The programme served as a meaningful platform for students to understand and appreciate the enduring relevance of Gandhian values in shaping responsible individuals and a more compassionate society.
